About The Artist!
I started making bears in April 2001. I have always loved stuffed animals, and have a special fondness for teddy bears. Having been involved in knitting, embroidery and quilting, I was challenged to make a bear. I was immediately addicted!
As my bear collection grew, I realized I needed an outlet for my bears. Friends and co-workers encouraged me to start selling my bears. I took a class in designing bears and Butternut, my first bear, was created. My website was created shortly thereafter.
My bears are from a smoke free home and are made from mohair, alpaca, synthetic plush, and occasionally, recycled fur. The pawpads are made from ultrasuede, wool felt, dyed upholstery fabric, or reverse mohair. They are fully jointed, have glass eyes, a hand-stitched nose of perle cotton, and are stuffed with polyfiberfill, and sometimes glass pellets or steel shot, for some extra weight.
All my bears are jointed with locknut/bolts or cotter pins. Some of the bears are one of a kind, some limited editions, and others will be open editions. Please note that the bears are adult collectibles and as such are not suitable for use as a child's toy!
I strive for excellence in each bear I make, and I must be satisfied with it before I will let the bear leave for his/her new home. I was taught to always do my best, and as a result, bring glory to God for the abilities He has given me.
I hope my bears bring you as much pleasure as they give me, and that they will be a welcome addition to your hug.
or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God. 1 Corinthians. 10:13
